Spotify Launches 'Countdown To' Video Series Highlighting Upcoming Album Releases

S potify has also announced a brand-new video interview series called Countdown To: giving you a first inside glimpse at some of the album releases that are soon to come.

Diving deep into inspiration behind their latest projects, in conversation with artists, collaborators, fellow performers, and close friends and family, the first episode drops this Friday at midnight ET/Thursday at 9 p.m. PT featuring country-rap phenomenon Jelly Roll diving into his brand-new album Beautifully Broken with rapper and rock artist MGK, with whom they've also collaborated on the hit song "Lonely Road."

As Countdown To says with MGK, an unguarded sit-down for Jelly Roll, who said of it, "For me, it is an honor to be the first artist featured in Spotify's new series and share the stories behind my album Beautifully Broken with my fans."

Countdown To is an extension of Spotify's existing Countdown Page, where listeners will be able to go see a tracklisting for an album, pre-save new music that's being released, shop for merch, and much more in advance.

About the launch of the series, Sarah Patellos, global head, Spotify Music Studios said, "Countdown To is part of our commitment to bring to the forefront artists and their new releases. This series gives those super-fans an even closer look at the personal journey and creative inspirations of some of their favorite musicians. Shot in a very documentary style by director Karam Gill and mgx creative, these intimate conversations pull audiences even deeper into the artist's world."

Full interviews will be available as vodcast episodes of Countdown To on Spotify and YouTube, with clips also running on each artist's Countdown Page. Jelly Roll drops his new album Beautifully Broken-the exceptionally personal record that deals with addiction, recovery, and growth-on October 11. The project follows 2023's Whitsitt Chapel, which sported the Grammy-nominated singles "Need a Favor" and "Save Me."
